XBRL API
Tagged SEC facts from 10-K, 10-Q, 20-F, and 40-F (and amendments) — concepts, search, then one accession. Not 8-K or Japan.
XBRL is the tagged numbers inside US SEC statement filings. Each fact is a taxonomy tag (us-gaap:…, ifrs-full:…), a period, a unit, and a value — what the filer tagged in the IDEA XBRL package, not the markdown 10-K and not our standardized Financials grid.
Resolve the company (Entities), list tags with XBRL Concepts, then XBRL Search for numbers. If you already have an accession, skip to XBRL Filing Facts.
Standardized income/balance/cash-flow tables are Financials Standardized. Those columns cite a statement filing; they do not invent XBRL tags.
Coverage
- Which forms. Statement forms only: 10-K, 10-Q, 20-F, 40-F, and their
/Aamendments. 8-K, 13F, ownership, and N-PORT are not in this group (they may still have markdown in SEC Filings). - When. Facts from the statement filings we have ingested (same accessions as the HTML exhibit path). Search defaults to the last five years of
period_endunless you passaccessionorperiod_start— that default is a query window, not the edge of the warehouse. Filing Facts is one accession and has no year default. - Consolidated.
consolidated=true(default) keeps facts with no dimensions (no segment axes).falseincludes breakdowns. Empty axes are the consolidated total — see the guide. - Not covered. Company presentation / linkbase order, mapping a standardized Financials line to a guessed tag, Japan EDINET iXBRL.

What to call
| You have | Call |
|---|---|
| A ticker or CIK and you need the tags this filer used | XBRL Concepts |
| Tags (or a substring) and you want the numbers | XBRL Search |
| One accession or Document id | XBRL Filing Facts |
| The markdown exhibit for that filing | Document Reference / Document Contents |
| A human-readable standardized statement | Income Statement |
id on Concepts and Search is the same handle as Entity Reference. See Ids you can send. Issuers without a SEC CIK are 404.
id on Filing Facts is a Document Search id, an SEC accession, or accession|chunk. See The Document item.
Concepts vs facts
A concept is a prefixed tag. Call Concepts first so Search gets real ids (us-gaap:RevenueFromContractWithCustomerExcludingAssessedTax), not a display label.
A fact is one tagged value in one filing. Each result includes a slim Document (document_id, filing_id, source, filing_type, backlink_url, source_document_url, source_filing_url).
backlink_url is the filing viewer on this site. source_document_url is the SEC exhibit. source_filing_url is the SEC filing index. Pass filing.document_id to Document Reference or Filing Facts as id.
period_type is duration (income and cash flow), instant (balance), or all.
