Time Series API

Company price, statement, ratio, and dividend series. Look up a series id, then fetch dated points for up to eight companies over a lookback or a date range.

Time series is the history behind a chart: a close, annual revenue, a margin, a dividend. Each series has a stable id (close__daily, revenue__annual). You fetch points for one or more companies over a lookback, or over an explicit date range.

If you only have a company name, resolve it first with Entity Search, then pass the ticker or other id here. If you do not already know the series id, call Time Series Metrics before Time Series.

Stored currency

Point values stay in the currency stored on that series. This endpoint does not convert them. Fundamentals is the tool that accepts currency.

Coverage

History is whatever we store for that listing inside the window you ask for. There is no separate as-of clock and no point-in-time restatement.

SeriesWhat a point is
Price (close__daily, and the weekly and monthly ids)One bar. date is the session date.
Statements (revenue__annual, revenue__quarter, TTM and growth ids)One fiscal period. date is the period end.
Daily ratios (PE__daily)One session. date is that session.
DividendsOne distribution. date is the ex-date.

range is 3M, 1Y, 3Y, 5Y, 10Y, or ALL (default 5Y). ALL is the history we keep for that series. Pass from or to as YYYY-MM-DD when you want a calendar window instead. Either side may be omitted. An explicit date replaces range.

A fiscal year that ended just outside a short lookback (a September year-end against range=1Y in October) comes back with no points. Widen the range or pass dates.

Metrics, then points

Time Series Metrics does not return values. With no query and no category it returns category ids and how many series each one has. Pass query=revenue or category=income_statement for a page of ids (default 20, max 50).

You can search these ids on Coverage — Time series metrics. That table is a snapshot and can be behind the API. For the current list, call Time Series Metrics.

Time Series takes up to 8 company ids and up to 8 series ids. ids resolve the same way as Entity Reference. The response has one results row per company and series. points is oldest first.

Empty is not the same as unknown

An unknown series id is 400. A company id that does not resolve is listed in unresolved and is not an error. A resolved company with no values in the window returns that row with points: [].

ISIN and CUSIP match on ids and are never returned. ticker on a resolved company is the display ticker.
