EDINET Translated Filings API

Japan EDINET filings as English markdown — keyword search, securities reports, extraordinary reports, AGM and M&A packs, including attachments.

EDINET Translated Filings is Japan’s EDINET disclosure set—keyword search across English-translated filings, plus browse-by-company when you omit query. Exhibits are English markdown (Japanese HTML translated in place, tables kept).

Japan filings access is required. Start with a company id (ticker or EDINET filer code — Entities) or a query, call EDINET Filing Search, then pass document_id to EDINET Filing Reference or EDINET Filings Markdown.

Japan access

Without Japan filings access this group is 403. Never send user_id or organization_id — identity is bound from your credentials.

Each hit is a Document item plus EDINET fields (disclosure type, document type code 120, reporting-period dates). Browse returns kind=filing and every exhibit. Keyword search returns kind=document for the matched exhibit. Exhibit status fields are on each file. Cross-corpus search stays on Documents. Empty values are omitted.

Coverage

  • When. Indexed English EDINET history starts 2015-10-29, then live. See Coverage for counts and the year chart. Late posts are picked up on a short lookback over recent Tokyo calendar days.
  • Which forms. EDINET document-type codes we ingest — annual securities reports (120 / 130, Yuho-class), quarterlies (140 / 150), extraordinary reports, treasury, AGM materials, M&A packs, and the rest. Call EDINET Filing Types for the code list. Mapping those codes onto 10-K-like buckets is a filter convenience; a Yuho is not a Form 10-K.
  • Which files. Main public HTML, audit reports, and attachments are separate exhibits. Translation walks text nodes in the HTML tree (tables stay tables). PDFs in the zip are skipped. Images are not translated.
  • Language. English markdown after ja→en. Residual kanji in proper nouns can remain. is_english is true when the source exhibit was already English.
  • Not in this group. US EDGAR, and Japan XBRL tags (US statement facts stay in XBRL).

published_at and filed_at are UTC from EDINET submission (Japan wall clock). See published_at.

Filters

filing_type_categories and filing_types use the same ids as Document Search. Some categories (correspondence, orders_notices, trust_indenture) are SEC-only and 400 here. Raw values such as 120 or annualsecuritiesreport are accepted. Full expansion: EDINET Filing Types.

fy is the calendar year of filing_period_end. period_start / period_end also filter that reporting-period end — not submission day. from_date / to_date remain submission-day filters.

Company id is the same handle as Entity Reference.
